Sara and her mom have plan to finally escape Sara’s abusive father. But when her mom dosen’t show up as expected, Sara’s terrified. Her father says that she’s on a business trip, but Sara knows he’s lying. Her mom is missing – and her dad had something to do with it.
With each day that passes, Sara’s more on edge. Her friends know that something’s wrong, but she won’t endanger anyone else with her secret. And with her dad growing increasingly violent, Sara must figure out what happened to her mom before it’s too late… for them both.

„Don’t even think of leaving… I will find you,” he whispered.
„Guaranteed.”
– from What She Left Behind

What She Left Behind was different. It was like riding a 237 pages script of a thriller movie. The pages were filled with secrets, doubts, and tough decisions. And while I was riding it, the images were running before my eyes.
From the first few chapters, I know I wasn’t going to be able to stop reading until I’ll find out what happened to Sara’s mom.
What She Left Behind tells the story of Sara, a shy girl who’s trying to cope with the fact that her brother took his own life and now her dad is physically abusive to her mother. When her mom finally decides to take Sara and run, she disappears.
Sara knows her father have something to do with her mom disappearance and starts to search for clues that will take her to what happened.
Sara is becoming stronger from page to page and the end of the book will reveal a brave young girl, ready to do what it takes to save her mom.
Behind the actions of Sara, her mom and dad, What She Left Behind tackles serious themes, sometimes subtly and sometimes not.
You will find this book is more than just a story, is a lesson of life and death and the struggle a teenager is going through for saving the one she loves.
